Newfoundland to Bishop's Rock Lighthouse (Scilly Isles). This is an
attempt to break the current world record for unsupported solo land
to land row from Canada to UK, that belongs to Rob Munslow

days 10h 48m). The record for the fastest assisted crossing (55 days)
belongs to Tom McClean
who took tow at the arrival. |

Both the Falmouth and Canadian coastguards implemented a rescue mission with the aid of an oil rig support vessel and both John and his boat are now safely on board and heading to terra firma". |

After having formally completed the crossing of the Pacific E to W by taking a tow off coast of Papua New Guinea on May 17 2008, Erden resumed his row to make a landfall in order to proceed with the project "human powered circumnavigation". A ship took his boat to the area of May 17th coordinates where Erden tied for tow behind Champion-52: (N0.01842 E144.61819) |
