He died from heart attack at  35  -

"Recontre avec deux fêlés de l'Atlantique" -
the first crossing of an ocean in a kite-boat by
Anne Quéméré in 2006

Ten years ago Peter Bird was lost at sea when attempting the Pacific W-E crossing.
His son
Louis Bird (14)  presented  'The Peter Bird Trophy For Tenacity and Perseverance' (established in 1997) to

June 30, 2006 was Justin’s last day at Rowsell&Adkin, Exmouth.

Oceanrower ( crew of 4 "All Relative", 2005) and boat builder Justin Adkin has taken a position as a teacher at the Boat Building Academy at Lyme Regis.
We wish him every success in this new chapter of his life and thank him for all his good service for ocean rowers over the last three years !
