The ORS Int. is the official adjudicator of ocean rowing records for Guinness World Records

 


On March 22nd  2003 at 11.00am in Kilkee Ireland the unveiling of a memorial erected in the memory and honor of  seven ocean rowers who were lost at sea while attempting to row an Ocean will take place.

The ocean rowers  are: David Johnstone & John Hoare (GB),  Kenneth Kerr (GB), Andrew Wilson (GB), Eugene Smurgis (Russia), Peter Bird (GB) and Nenad Belic (US).

The memorial will be sited overlooking the Atlantic Ocean at Dunlicka Castle, Dunlicka Road, Kilkee, Co. Clare. 

All above ocean rowers were lost in Atlantic Ocean except Peter Bird who was lost in Pacific Ocean. Anyone (especially family and friends of the lost oceanrowers) wishing to attend the unveiling ceremony is welcome.
